Istanbul, Turkey – 1973 – Emerging from the smoky backstreets of Istanbul, Lezzetli Duman (a fictional band) ignites the Anatolian rock scene with their self-titled debut album—a hypnotic fusion of prog rock, psychedelic grooves, traditional Turkish folk, and electrifying improvisation. Composed of five virtuosos—Haluk Demirci (lead guitar, saz), Orhan Yılmaz (rhythm guitar, keyboards), Cemal Arslan (keyboards, percussion), Mehmet Kaya (bass), and Yusuf Şahin (drums)—the band weaves a sonic tapestry as intoxicating as the hashish dens that inspired their sound.
