Here is a copy of one of Norwegians finest Prog Rock exports `New Born Day` by Ruphus. Released by Polydor (2382 037) in 1973 the original first issue came in a gatefold `Textured` sleeve with a large fold-out poster of the band, original copies are getting hard to find especially with the poster. A copy sold on for £427 in 2024 (with poster), top copies without aforementioned poster still sell for around £150!!
Formed in Oslo, Norway in 1970 - Disbanded in 1981 RUPHUS is probably one of the most important 70's Norwegian hard rock band with progressive tendencies. Their debut "New Born Day" is certainly one of the best Norwegian albums. But three members left after the album release and a new singer was found for their second album "Ranshart", a more progressive record. Future jazz-rock legend Terje Rypdal produced their third album "Let Your Light Shine", a jazz-rock album that had much success in Germany, but again, personnel change struck at the worst of times, but their fourth album "Inner Voice" continued the formula, but further changes undermined the group, eventually folding at the end of the decade to general indifference.

ως single.

Horslips are an Irish Celtic rock band that compose, arrange and perform songs frequently inspired by traditional Irish airs, jigs and reels. The group are regarded as "founding fathers of Celtic rock"[1] for their fusion of traditional Irish music with rock music and went on to inspire many local and international acts.[citation needed] They formed in 1970 and 'retired' in 1980 for an extended period.

The Moody Blues were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in May 1964. The band initially consisted of drummer Graeme Edge, guitarist/vocalist Denny Laine, keyboardist/vocalist Mike Pinder, multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Ray Thomas, and bassist/vocalist Clint Warwick. Originally part of the British beat and R&B scene of the early–mid 1960s, the band came to prominence with the UK No. 1 and US Top 10 single "Go Now" in late 1964/early 1965. Laine and Warwick left the band by the end of 1966, being replaced by guitarist/vocalist Justin Hayward and bassist/vocalist John Lodge. They embraced the psychedelic rock movement of the late 1960s, with their second album, 1967's Days of Future Passed, being a fusion of rock with classical music (performed with the London Festival Orchestra)
The album represents a significant creative turning point for the band. The album is their first with guitarist and singer Justin Hayward in place of Denny Laine and bassist John Lodge in place of Clint Warwick. The album is also their first to feature longtime producer and collaborator Tony Clarke and the first to feature keyboardist Mike Pinder on Mellotron.
These changes, combined with a shift away from R&B covers toward
original compositions and a thematic concept, helped define the band's
sound for the next several albums and earned the group new critical and
commercial success.
The album was recorded to showcase the stereo recording techniques of Decca Records' new imprint, Deram. The label had requested the group record covers of pop
and classical music along with an orchestra. Instead, the album
features original compositions expressing the day in a life of an
everyday person, interspersed with orchestral interludes arranged and
conducted by Peter Knight and performed by the London Festival Orchestra.
The album was a moderate success upon release, but steady FM radio airplay and the success of hit single "Nights in White Satin", caused the album to become a top ten US hit by 1972. It has since been listed among the most important albums of 1967 by Rolling Stone, and is cited by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and others as an example of the first progressive rock album[6] and one of the first concept albums.

Heavy Horses is the eleventh studio album by British progressive rock band Jethro Tull, released on 10 April 1978.
The album is often considered the second in a trio of folk rock albums released by the band at the end of the 1970s, alongside Songs from the Wood (1977) and Stormwatch (1979). In contrast to the British folklore-inspired lyrical content found on Songs from the Wood, Heavy Horses adopts a more realist and earthly perspective of country living — the album and its title track are dedicated to the "indigenous working ponies and horses of Great Britain".[3] Musically, the album sees the band continuing the combination of folk and progressive rock found on Songs from the Wood, although with an overall darker and more sober sound fitting the changed lyrical content.

Crest of a Knave is the sixteenth studio album by British rock band Jethro Tull, released in 1987. The album was recorded after a three-year hiatus caused by a throat infection of vocalist Ian Anderson, resulting in his changed singing style. Following the unsuccessful electronic rock album Under Wraps, Crest of a Knave
had the band returning to a more hard rock sound. The album was their
most successful since the 1970s and the band enjoyed a resurgence on
radio broadcasts, appearances in MTV specials and the airing of music videos. It was also a critical success, winning the 1989 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental in what was widely viewed as an upset over the favorite, Metallica's ...And Justice for All.[4] The album was supported by "The Not Quite the World, More the Here and There Tour".[citation needed]

The FAR EAST FAMILY BAND released a lot of records in the Seventies and
Eighties, they sound quite unique (an Eastern sound) with echoes from
PINK FLOYD.
The first album "The Cave Down To Earth" from '74 is
mostly recommended, it has a spacey and slight psychdelic sound (like
early PINK FLOYD) and contains ethnic elements which gives the music an
original twist. Another fine album is "Nipponjin" ('75) with a keyboard
version of FAR OUT's "Nihonjin" (FAR OUT was the precursor of FEFB).
It's in the vein of the debut-album, the climates ranges from bombastic
to more mellow. The album "Parallel World" was produced by the famous
electronic pioneer KLAUS SCHULZE.

Younger now, I must survive, not only for me
But for someone else I will live
Find something to give, not for yourself
Air Over (instrumental)
Crossing the Line
When you're caught, the other side
Take a look and maybe start
To take up your life again
Crossing the line
Through the gate, what words to say
Demon takes your breath away
Hear your heart, don't be afraid
Passing through time
Spinning around the axis of a dream
Possibilities aren't always what they seem
Reject them and all your choices will be free
Crossing the line
Turn upon the winding stair
Past the door that isn't there
You have come you know not where
Passing through time
Walk along the narrow road
Where the ghost gives up his mind
You can catch the thread of time
Crossing the line
Spinning around the axis of a dream
Possibilities aren't always what they seem
Reject them and all your choices will be free
Crossing the line

Following the demise of his previous band, Tempest, Hiseman announced his plan for a new, as yet unnamed, outfit in November 1974, but only Moore
was named as a member. Rehearsals were due to begin on 1 January 1975
but a permanent line-up was not finalised until May 1975. Among the
musicians considered were singer Graham Bell, keyboardist Duncan Mackay and former Colosseum and Tempest bassist Mark Clarke. The line-up was eventually completed by singer Mike Starrs, keyboardist Don Airey and bassist Neil Murray. The band was oriented toward jazz fusion, much of which was driven by the guitar work of Moore, leading to a much heavier sound than the original Colosseum.
