It's A Beautiful Day- Marrying Maiden 1970

It's a Beautiful Day is an American band formed in San Francisco, California, in 1967, featuring vocalist Pattie Santos along with violinist David LaFlamme and his wife, Linda LaFlamme, on keyboards.

David LaFlamme, who as a youth had once performed as a soloist with the Utah Symphony Orchestra, had previously been in the group Orkustra playing five-string violin. The other members of It's a Beautiful Day in its early years were Hal Wagenet (guitar), Mitchell Holman (bass), and Val Fuentes (drums). Although they were one of the notable San Francisco bands to emerge from 1967's Summer of Love, the band never achieved the success of contemporaries such as Grateful DeadJefferson Airplane, and Santana, with whom they had connections. The band created a unique blend of rock, jazz, folk, classical, and world-beat styles during its first seven years.

The second album of the American rock band "It's A Beautiful Day", released in 1970 by Columbia Records in the USA, by CBS in Europe. The album was doomed to a sound change as the LaFlamme couple separated after the first album and Linda left the band. Although she was replaced by another (and quite good) keyboardist Fred Webb, he was just different and brought with him a different sound. Linda LaFlamme, with her classic influence, balanced David's performance in an interesting way. His violin sounded in the traditional American roots of country music and the like, and Linda brought a stream of European tradition into the music of “It's A Beautiful Day”. With the departure of Linda, the classical influence has diminished considerably. Marrying Maiden features two guest musicians: Richard Olsen (of the San Francisco band The Charlatans) and legendary guitarist Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead. The appearance of Garcia is not accidental, because LaFlamme has known him for a long time - they played together in different jams and projects long before the creation of the band “It's A Beautiful Day”. Album "Marrying Maiden" in 1970 rose to 28th in the US and 45th in the British charts.
